Cork and Kerry Food Market

The Cork and Kerry artisan food market in Cork City Hall certainly did not disappoint.

With a kids’ baking workshop; lots of entertainment (magician, face painting, balloon maker, live acoustic guitar); a craft drinks zone and over 70 stalls presenting the most exquisite cuisine Cork & Kerry have to offer, the 10th indoor food market was a fun-filled food extravaganza!

CHICCO Creative Studio Photography was in the thick of things. We met local chefs, brewers and business owners and we captured many of the event highlights (see below).

Of course we couldn’t resist trying some of the delicacies for ourselves, including the delightful Kinsale Chicken Liver Pate, Cork’s finest fudge, farm fresh fruit, Angus steak biltong, crispy pork snacks and a range of locally made cheeses all from companies such as Scratch My Pork, Finders Food, ROSSCARBERY, Irish Green, Healthy You, Marshmallow Factory and many more. Among the hot drinks companies, we were lucky enough to try Velo Coffee’s delicious flat white as well as the more exotic flavours of Remedy Roots’ Turmeric Latte.

Highlights among the alcohol selection included Cotton Ball Ales, particularly their Lynch’s Handcrafted Stout and Beara Distillery’s salt water infused gin. Other companies we saw were West Cork Brewing Co., The Busy Botanist, Blacks Brewery, St Patrick’s Distillery, Loungueville House Beverages and The Kinsale Mead Co. – all offering an array of fine beers, ales and meads.

And adding a spicy kick to this culinary expo, the range of hot sauces offered by Athula Fusion Foods and Rebel Chilli certainly caught our attention.

Overall we were impressed by the work carried out by the presenters, organisers, the Irish Food Board, SuperValu, Taste Cork, Taste Kerry, Cork City Council and the Local Enterprise Office team, for putting together such a great event and we were delighted to be a part of it.
